S300 Professional scans a 270-degree field at up to 5 m detection range for human presence, with configurable warning and protective fields that adjust dynamically to robot arm speed via EFI-pro I/O. Four independently configurable field sets switch in response to mode signals from the machine controller, enabling different safety zones for loading, unloading, and transit phases without a second scanner. EFI-pro network interface broadcasts scanner field status and detection data to remote I/O modules and safety PLCs without a dedicated safe I/O cable. Response time of 80 ms satisfies PL d Cat. 3 machinery safety requirements for access protection. Annual certification by a notified body is simplified by SICK SafetyDesigner software generating safety function documentation automatically from the configured parameters.
