i.MX 8M Plus features NXP’s first dedicated NPU, capable of running MobileNet V1 at 140 FPS for real-time factory defect detection and product classification at the edge. Dual DSPs handle audio pre-processing for far-field voice commands and acoustic anomaly detection alongside visual AI workloads simultaneously. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports with IEEE 1588 time synchronisation enable the EVK to operate as an industrial gateway coordinating time-sensitive machine vision with control systems. Support for up to four simultaneous MIPI CSI-2 cameras and dual MIPI DSI displays makes it suitable for multi-camera kiosk and robotics applications. Full Yocto Linux and Android BSP support accelerates commercial product development.
