EtherCAT’s on-the-fly processing means the EK1100 inserts and extracts data from the Ethernet frame as it passes through each terminal, achieving deterministic performance without a dedicated fieldbus scan cycle. Up to 256 K-Bus terminals can connect to a single EK1100 coupler via direct snapping — no screwdrivers required — with spring-terminal field wiring for rapid installation. Link status LED and automatic bus error reporting simplify field diagnostics. Power jumper contacts pass 24 V across the terminal strip, reducing power supply wiring to the coupler head only. Compatible with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 and any EtherCAT master implementing the IEC 61158-4-12 standard.
