MPU5’s Wave Relay protocol implements a mobile mesh that self-heals routing within milliseconds of a node loss, maintaining full voice, video, and data connectivity through complex urban terrain and dense urban RF environments. Four transmit and four receive chains at 4.4-5.9 GHz achieve AESA-like spatial diversity using commercial MIMO techniques, doubling throughput compared to single-chain military radios in equivalent spectrum. Software-defined architecture allows field firmware updates to add encryption suites, waveforms, and frequency bands without hardware replacement. GPS-stamped position reports enable blue-force tracking without a separate system, reducing dismounted soldier load. Used by US SOCOM, Marine Raiders, and UK SAS for direct-action and reconnaissance missions.
