Wi-Fi and Ethernet can be independently enabled or disabled to match safety and certification requirements for different market variants. CM4 Lite omits the eMMC for SD-card-based or SATA-attached storage designs. Official Raspberry Pi OS with 5-year LTS kernel support makes CM4 viable for products requiring multi-year maintenance without hardware changes.
