nRF5340’s dual-core architecture assigns the 64 MHz network core exclusively to radio protocol stacks (BLE, IEEE 802.15.4) while the 128 MHz application core runs user application code independently, delivering robust multi-protocol performance without stack-application interference. Matter over Thread and over Bluetooth are both supported in the nRF Connect SDK, making it the only chip capable of handling both Matter transport protocols in a single production device. USB-only power delivery eliminates the need for a UART programmer — just plug in a USB cable to flash and debug. On-board segger J-Link debugger supports multi-core debugging from nRF Vscode extension. QSPI flash and 1 MB RAM accommodate complex multi-protocol stacks and application payloads simultaneously.
