ET 200SP’s modular design supports up to 32 I/O modules per station spanning digital inputs, digital outputs, analog I/O, serial interfaces, technology modules, and fail-safe I/O on the same backplane without separate safety slices. Its PROFINET interface module provides prioritised real-time communication with the S7-1500 controller with cycle times down to 250 µs. BaseUnit push-in screw terminal technology allows module replacement without re-wiring by retaining all field connections in the base; spare module replacement takes under 30 seconds. Isochronous PROFINET mode coordinates ET 200SP I/O updates with motion control cycles for precision axis synchronisation. SIL 3 and PLe fail-safe modules carry integrated diagnostics for all safety-rated channel types.
