ctrlX CORE runs ctrlX OS — a hardened Ubuntu-based real-time Linux — allowing standard IT tools like Docker and Kubernetes to coexist with deterministic 250 μs control cycles. Developers deploy control apps, MQTT brokers, OPC UA servers, and edge AI models as separate containerised apps from the ctrlX Store marketplace. The controller’s TSN-capable Ethernet supports time-sensitive control across distributed motion axes without dedicated fieldbus cabling. Its REST API and web-based HMI builder accelerate custom machine UI development without specialised ICS software. A Raspberry Pi compute module form factor enables easy retrofitting into existing machine cabinets.
